I’m Sneha, founder and lead designer of Ashwani Dezine – an Indian lab that focuses on passion, purpose and the idea that creativity shouldn’t be limited by moving furniture. My journey started much earlier, as I had a tendency to perceive spaces differently. I was constantly envisioning a room and its appearance before I learned the term “visualization.”. Today, I shifted my approach to design from decoration to transformation through a quiet instinct. As a designer, I’ve heard statements like “This won’t work in India” or “That kind of design belongs in the US.” These comments were made by other designers and vendors as well. What happened? Frequently, I wondered why? What makes us question the possibility of living in a country with such impressive architecture, given its diverse and innovative culture? What led to our transformation from pioneering the study of global design history to believing that we can’t imagine life without a dream?
That question drives me every day.
At Ashwani Dezine, my goal is to break down conventional patterns in India and demonstrate that it is achievable through bold, stunningly crafted design. Regardless of the location, budget, or space availability, I take great pride in creating interiors that reflect real people and true stories. I am here to transform unattainable homes, reimagine soulful rents, and create arty furniture. We create the beautiful, while others reject the idea of it being possible.
Great design doesn’t meander, but rather conveys luxury, emotion and intention.
