I’m Sneha, the founder and principal designer of Ashwani Dezine — an interior and furniture design lab based in India, built on passion, purpose, and the belief that creativity shouldn’t come with limits.
My journey didn’t begin with moving furniture around, like most design stories often do. For me, it started much earlier — with an inner habit of seeing spaces differently. Even before I understood the word “visualization,” I was constantly imagining how a room could look, not just how it did. That quiet instinct slowly shaped how I approach design today: not as decoration, but as transformation.
As a designer, I’ve heard things like, “Sneha, this won’t work in India,” or “That kind of design belongs in the US, not here.” These comments didn’t just come from clients — sometimes, they came from fellow designers and vendors. And I often found myself wondering: why? Why do we doubt what’s possible here, in a country that’s home to some of the most iconic, diverse, and innovative architecture in the world?
How did we go from shaping global design history… to believing we can’t dream boldly in our own spaces?
That question drives me every day.
At Ashwani Dezine, my mission is to challenge the stereotypes — to show that bold, beautiful, and deeply personal design is possible right here in India. Regardless of space constraints, budget, or location, I believe in creating interiors that reflect real stories and real people. Whether it’s transforming well-lived-in homes, reimagining rentals with soul, or designing furniture that feels like art — I’m here to take the “not possible” and turn it into “done beautifully.
